About Us

“We, Sanctuary Fellowship Baptist Church, are committed to the ministry taught by Jesus Christ; making disciples of the world through the fellowship of committed servants of Christ. TO THE GLORY OF GOD!!!”

Our Beginning (1996)

Founded on October 29, 1996, Sanctuary Fellowship Baptist Church was born from a divine vision received by Pastor Keith L. Whitney. With the unction of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Whitney envisioned a church dedicated to truth, service, and the power of community.

Growth Through Faith

From humble beginnings at Greater Concord Baptist Church and later Perfecting Ministry, Sanctuary has grown through faith, perseverance, and prayer. In 1997, the church was formally organized and established Pastor Whitney as its lifelong shepherd. The congregation later moved into its permanent home at 2610 Ewald Circle, where it continues to serve the spiritual needs of the community.

Serving the City & the World

Over the years, the church has supported missions near and far, from feeding the hungry at Capuchin Soup Kitchen to serving abroad through Campus Crusade for Christ. Sanctuary has hosted Bible classes, choir rehearsals, youth camps, and more — always with the goal of lifting up Christ and loving His people.

“Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.
And with thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary, Lord, for you.”
